How to make wooden bearing mounts

Ball bearings exist in all sorts and shapes are used everywhere around us. When making more technical projects it can be really nice to use proper ball bearings for the axles and other spinning things. And there are lots of great standard flanged bearings and bearing blocks available to buy. But sometimes, be it for cost savings, looks, learning or to fit your needs better, you just want to make your own.

I’m making two different types of bearing mounts in this video that both clamp the bearing securely in place. Version 1 is for panel mounting and version 2 is an alternative to a bearing block or pillow bearing.
